Vattikuti India Foundation along with Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi (RGVN), Guwahati based local NGO Partner and with active support from Vattikuti India Foundation (VIF), launched Unnati- A community led poverty alleviation programme in two blocks, one Borkhetri Block of Nalbari district and the other one, Paschim Mangaldoi Block, of Darrang district in Assam, covering 224 villages, since August 2015 and ongoing. The programme, as part of Poverty Alleviation Initiative has been designed for including the unprivileged masses into the mainstream of financial inclusion in an endeavor to lift them out of poverty cycle. The project is divided into two verticals. One vertical is called Livelihood and the other one is Financial Inclusion.

To focus on enlarging the scope of CBO led initiatives in livelihoods and financial inclusion to entitlements, education, enterprises and employment (4Es), and health services. Community Service Centers (CSC) at Gram Panchayat (GP)/ Hobli level established in Kunigal and Gubbi taluks, Tumakuru district. The IT enabled CSC’s are community owned single window service points to provide quality and cost-effective services in the areas of government to citizens (G2C), business to customers (B2C), Financial inclusion and SHG Book keeping. The CBO manages these centers, delivering services to the residents.

Health Care

Foundation conducted Vattikuti Global Robotics in 2012, a Multi-specialty Robotic Surgery Conference held in New Delhi. The focus was on robotic surgery in Urology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Cardio Vascular, Peripheral Vascular, ENT, Head and Neck and Gastroenterology. This event was the first of its kind in India.

Foundation has carried a series of general and specialized health camps since 2010 in 2 states of Assam and Karnataka to provide free general health check-up, medicines, consultation by specialist doctors and free cataract surgeries to poor patients.

Under Safe Drinking Water project, Foundation provided safe drinking water to 200 plus families residing primarily in the selected 33 villages of Nalbari, Darrang and Goalpara districts through the installation of 46 hand pumps and water filters during 2017-18. These villages do not have safe drinking water and are prone to water borne diseases such as Diarrhoea, typhoid, jaundice etc.

Foundation together with Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore organised a Walkathon cum Awareness campaign on the eve of ‘World Cancer Day’ on February 4, 2018 at Kanakapura Taluk, Ramanagara District, Karnataka. More than 1000 ASHA/Aanganwadi workers, School & College students, and general population participated in the Walkathon. The Walkathon was flagged off by Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Kanakapura, Sh. D.K Suresh.

Higher Education Scholarship

The Vattikuti Foundation established by its founders, Raj and Padma Vattikuti is carrying out many socially relevant programmes and one such is providing scholarships to meritorious but poor students. Since its inception in 2010-11 till date, a total of 50 meritious scholars from poor family backgrounds, have been provided with financial support for higher studies.
